In early May, Google released a system update for the Google Play online store. It seems that this update contains much more interesting innovations than the one originally announced by Google. Recently, Google updated the note for the May update of Google Play and added some previously unmentioned innovations to it.
The most striking of these innovations, which were declassified, was the Photo Selector feature. First introduced in Android 13, this feature aims to restrict apps’ access to media files on the device. Instead of giving access to all media files on your device, Photo Selector only gives apps access to selected media files.
Official Google Photo Picker documentation states that this feature will appear on Android 12 and Android 11 devices due to Google Play system update.
Another new feature revealed in Google Play’s May update is support for installing and using streaming apps on devices running Android Automotive. The update also gives parents the ability to install the launcher on devices registered with Family Link. Source
