He US Attorney GeneralMerrick B. Garland confirmed That extradition from Ovidio Guzman Lopez from Mexico to the USA.

In his statement, he said the extradition of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera’s son is the result of cooperation between Mexican and US law enforcement agencies.

“Ovidio Guzman Lopez, leader of the Sinaloa cartel, extradited to the United States.”

Garland noted that this action is the latest step in the Justice Department’s efforts to attack all aspects of the cartel’s operations.

“The fight against the cartels required incredible courage from U.S. and Mexican law enforcement and military officials, many of whom gave their lives in the pursuit of justice.”

The U.S. Attorney General thanked the U.S. Department of Justice prosecutors for their work and sacrifice.

“I am also grateful to our colleagues in the Mexican government for this extradition.”

He noted that the Department of Justice will continue to hold accountable those responsible for fueling the opioid epidemic that has devastated too many communities across the country.
