Reuters writes about this, Ukrinform reports.
“India plans to conduct a major test of its ambitious manned space mission ‘Gaganian’ as early as next month,” the article said.
It was noted that the system to launch astronauts in case of danger will be tested. Its successful operation will allow it to move on to other tests before the final stage of the launch. “Although the exact time frame has not yet been made public, the mission is expected to be launched from India’s main spaceport Sriharikota by 2024,” the agency said.
Currently, four astronauts are training in India, but they want to increase their number so that they can repeat manned flights. Reuters explains: “The Gaganian mission aims to create a space capsule for human habitation that will carry a crew of three into a 400km orbit for three days and return safely after planning to crash into the Indian Ocean.”
We should also add that more than 1 billion dollars were allocated from the Indian state budget for this manned space mission.
