This was announced by Deputy Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Supply William Laplante, Ukrinform reported, citing Voice of America.

According to the official, Ukrainians completed training on the use of these printers last week.

“Finally, we delivered these industrial 3D printers to them in Ukraine, and last week they completed their training on this printer… They can print all their parts on it,” Laplante said.

According to him, the emergence of these printers “changes the situation completely” because it speeds up the process and opens up new possibilities.

“You can do amazing things with 3D printing, not just because of the speed. You can actually make parts that you wouldn’t normally be able to make,” Laplante said.

The Pentagon deputy chief also reported that after the start of the Russian invasion, Ukrainians began independently 3D printing spare parts, although they did not have the appropriate permits for this. The Allies helped Ukraine in this situation.

“Initially, the Ukrainians were printing their own 3D parts without technical data packages. You know what they say, intellectual property laws don’t matter much when your country is under existential attack. We streamlined this together with other countries. Now they have all the technical data packages,” Laplante said.

As Ukrinform reported, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the United States, together with its allies and partners, is considering all requests from Ukraine to support new weapons systems, including missile systems.
