Although still far from the user quotas of other services, Google continues to fight for YouTube Music’s position in the music streaming service market, a sector currently dominated by Apple Music and Spotify. And this is a very interesting fight because unlike what happens with VoD services, where each has exclusivity over a large part of its catalog (which is really annoying for users), musicals share a huge part of their catalog, so the competition is focused to offer better features to users.
I can’t stop saying how we users would love to see VoD services take a similar approach, I understand that not with own production, of course, but with the rest of the catalog, and it would be good not only for users. What i mean? A growing number of studies confirm that audiovisual piracy has increased again as the supply of video-on-demand content has been split between more and more services.
But okay, let’s get back to music streaming, which is what concerns us in this news, and more precisely to YouTube Music, a service that can feed its catalog thanks to the enormous amount of content on its root platform, YouTube. A service that I can say both from my own experience and from what some of its users have shared with me, should be given more consideration by those who are thinking about renting the services of a platform of this type, because tBoth in terms of catalog and features, this is a highly recommended option.
YTM has added a bunch of new generic filters and their respective mixes.

As we told you recently, Google is expanding the reach of its lyrics feature, and the same is happening with its podcast section. And today, although smaller, we will find another interesting news, and this is it YouTube Music is testing new moods as well as rearranging existing ones. This information comes from a screenshot posted on Reddit, where we can see, strangely in Spanish, the new moods added to existing ones.
As indicated, in addition to the new moods, we see that some currently existing ones have disappeared, leaving room for new ones. The following are currently available:
However, based on an image posted on Reddit, the new statuses are:
You can see the states that currently exist in italics, though you’ll see that only two of them, Energy and Training, have retained their original names. The three others were renamed such as Relax, on the road and Concentrate. The five new states are shown in bold.
This is the first expansion of this section since it arrived on YouTube Music in 2020, adding something that has been available on other platforms for some time, but in this case it becomes much more current. by placing it in a prominent place in the user interface of the service.
