ASUS lawsuit concerns 4G/5G smartphones like Galaxy Z Flip 5
This has been reported DigiTimes. ASUS is apparently suing Samsung for infringing on wireless technology in smartphones like the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer filed a lawsuit because it could not reach an agreement on the licensing fees for the patent it received from Samsung. The patent was submitted by ASUS Technology Licensing and Innovative Sonic Limited, which owns all patents for the brand. This lawsuit was filed against Samsung Electronics in the Eastern District of Texas (U.S. Patent No. 10,187,878).
The patent describes “a method and device for enhancing transmission using a configured source in a wireless communications system” and even mentions Samsung’s 4G and 5G smartphones.
