American Amazon has presented an updated version of its voice assistant Alexa, which should strengthen the company’s position in the race for artificial intelligence in the technology industry.
This was reported by CNBC, as reported by Ukrinform.
The new Alexa will have a more human voice and be able to have more natural conversations without any stimulation.
The voice assistant will also learn about its users with each new interaction/conversation.
Similar to ChatGPT or other generative AI programs, Alexa will be able to create messages for users and send them on their behalf. As an example, Amazon showed an invitation Alexa wrote to a friend, asking that person to come to a football game.
Among other things, Amazon also introduced the updated smart speaker Echo Show 8. The device uses computer vision to adjust its display depending on where the user is standing in the room.
If they are further away, fewer items will be displayed on the screen, but as they get closer, more details will be displayed.
Amazon said the device costs $150 and will start shipping in October.
