Google’s announcement earlier this week marks a big step forward for Meet users looking to streamline their workflows. With the emergence of third-party applications, users can now easily install various productivity applications from the Google Meet interface.
How does it work
To access this feature, users simply go to the Featured Plugins category located at the top of the activity bar. From there, they can select and install multiple apps directly into their meetings in just two clicks.
The following applications are available:
confluence,
figma,
lucidspark,
miro,
Polly,
read.ai.
In addition to this feature, Google Meet also has a “Get Add-ons” button that gives users a direct link to the Google Workspace marketplace. Here they can explore and purchase additional add-ons to further customize their Meet experience.
Google will collaborate with Miro
Google also announced the expansion of its collaboration with Miro, whose partnership was initially announced for 2022. Miro will open seamlessly on the Google Meet platform starting this week. Previously, Miro only opened in a separate tab next to Google Meet in the sidebar.
To access this integration, users are recommended to install the Miro app from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
According to Google’s announcement, this new feature is already available to users in fast release domain regions and is planned to be rolled out to the remaining users in the next two weeks. More importantly, the ability to install third-party apps directly into Google Meet is available to all Google Workspace users.
