American multinational Cisco is acquiring cybersecurity software company Splunk for approximately $28 billion in cash.

This was reported by CNBC, as reported by Ukrinform.

It is noted that this acquisition will be the largest acquisition in the history of Cisco.

The total value of the deal is approximately $28 billion, or $157 per share.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins said it is important to apply the artificial intelligence capabilities used in Splunk technologies to protect networks.

“Our combined capabilities will enable the next generation of AI-enabled security and surveillance,” Robbins said.

The deal is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024.

Splunk’s technology helps companies monitor and analyze their data to minimize the risk of breaches and resolve technical issues faster, he said. Cisco has long been the world’s largest maker of computer networking equipment and has been strengthening its cybersecurity business to meet customer demands and accelerate its growth.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation and the American multinational company Cisco signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of digitalization and education, Ukrinform reported.
