Less than a month after the Galaxy S22 family of smartphones received the previous update, a new emergency update has arrived for these devices. So far, this only applies to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, while those who bought the Exynos 2200 version have not yet received an update.
The new version is designated S90xEXXU2AVE4 (where “X” changes depending on the model) and has already been distributed in over a dozen countries. The size of the update is 350 MB. The mysterious update includes various unnamed security fixes as well as improvements to the overall stability of the features.
Mid-month updates like this are rare for Samsung, so the company is believed to have found something that needs to be fixed as soon as possible rather than waiting for the June security fix to be released in a few weeks.
If you have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 based Galaxy S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra and you have not yet received an update notification for this device, you can manually check it by going to “Settings” > “Software Update”. Source
