The video platform YouTube announced a number of innovations at its Made On YouTube event in New York. The upgrades include some notable features with AI.
New features are coming to YouTube. At its own Made On YouTube event in New York, not only some practical upgrades but also a number of new AI functions were presented.
We start the overview with dream screen. Does that sound phonetically familiar? This is no coincidence, this is YouTube’s version of a green screen and the first new AI feature for YouTube Shorts. This feature was introduced three years ago and is specifically intended for vertical clips of a minute or less. Users simply enter an idea into a command prompt and the AI automatically generates a background
dream screen will be tested with select developers later this year and rolled out more broadly over the next year. In the future, YouTube wants to use a similar function to offer the possibility of modifying (“remixing”) existing clips.
There will also be a feature next year that users can use before a second has been shot. From AI-powered insights You can then use generative AI in YouTube Studio to brainstorm ideas and draw lines for a clip.
This allows developers to brainstorm together with the AI. Insights are different for each channel and based on what the audience is currently watching. After initial tests in Studio, more than 70 percent of users surveyed said the system was useful, according to YouTube.
Another feature we will see next year is Supportive search in Creator Music. This is intended to make it easier to find specific music in Creator Music. Creators simply enter the description of their video and the AI will suggest relevant music at the right price.
Would you like to share your creation in a completely different language? Then there will be soon Automatic dubbing with Aloud to help with that. This is an AI tool that automatically synchronizes clips into another language. However, YouTube has not yet revealed which languages this will be possible in.
This is certainly not the first connection between YouTube and AI. For example, you can ask Google Bard to display certain videos on the platform. YouTube may also be used by Google to train the Gemini AI project.
Then there is also an update in which AI is not the focus. To speed up the creation, creation and uploading of clips, the mobile app is available YouTubeCreate in addition. This should also encourage inexperienced creatives to take the first step. The app aims to make producing short films and regular clips easier and faster and includes several features:
There is currently a beta version of it YouTubeCreate available in select markets. The app is simply free.
