At the same time, each party will have the authority to withdraw an additional $2.75 billion from Amazon.
But the parties declined to disclose how much stake Amazon owns in Anthropic or to provide an updated valuation of the startup, which was last valued at more than $4 billion.
Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky said the deal will help develop Anthropic’s models as well as its “AI-based chip technology and infrastructure.”
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said his company “is funded in a way that allows it to prioritize security” and “continues to expand its AI models.”
