The popular WhatsApp messaging team has announced upcoming changes for users of older smartphone models. It may not work on WhatsApp devices after a month. Support will be discontinued: WhatsApp will soon stop working on some smartphones.
The updated WhatsApp support page states:
Starting October 24, 2023, only Android OS version 5.0 and above will be supported.
Therefore, by October 24, WhatsApp users need to update the operating system version on their smartphones, and if Android 5.0 or newer is not supported, they may consider switching the device. After X day, all WhatsApp services will be unavailable on devices.

- Samsung Galaxy Nexus
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

- LG Optimus 2X
- Nexus7
- LG Optimus G Pro

- Sony Xperia Z
- Sony Xperia S2
- Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc3
- Motorola Xoom
- Motorola Droid Razr
The current stable version of WhatsApp requires a device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (OS version 2012) and above. As for iPhone, the support information on the WhatsApp website has not changed yet – iOS 12 or newer is required for operation.
