[Advertorial] 2N, the global leader in Internet intercoms and access control systems, has expanded its popular 2N intercom to include a number of functionalities® IP Verso 2.0, enhanced to optimize both security and flexibility. This is a direct response to a survey in which 2N asked its customers what features they consider important for their access control systems.
One of the security upgrades is a full HD wide-angle camera, which, according to 2N’s internal research, is now increasingly in demand in more than 50% of office projects (and is also being requested by more homeowners). The camera offers crystal clear image quality even in very poor lighting conditions. Unlike other cameras that switch to night mode and infrared lighting at dusk, full image color can be maintained until a few minutes before dusk. Additionally, the 2N® IP Verso 2.0 camera supports Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), which eliminates black silhouettes when the sun shines directly behind the visitor.
The third new security feature designed to give users a better view of what’s happening outside the door to increase building security is Adaptive Face Zooming. This automatically zooms in on the visitor, making it easier for the user to see the person on the intercom or their smartphone. This is particularly advantageous for video intercom systems that use a wide-angle camera. Although wide-angle cameras provide a perfect overview of the entire entrance, the image of the visitor in the image is usually relatively small, making it difficult to see the face.
A final safety improvement is the new anodized aluminum housing. This makes the housing of the 2N® IP Verso 2.0 significantly more stable and therefore more resistant to vandalism.
An improvement in flexibility is that 2N® IP Verso 2.0 now supports a fifth type of credential, QR codes (in addition to the existing credentials for RFID cards, PIN codes, fingerprints and smartphone access). QR codes are becoming increasingly popular because they can be easily distributed via email and are ideal for one-time or temporary access, such as for couriers or contractors.
The new functionality of the 2N® IP Verso 2.0 is made possible by the power of the ARTPEC-7 processor, a chip developed by Axis, 2N’s parent company.
Hans van Moorsel, Country Manager Benelux at 2N: “The IP Verso has long enjoyed great popularity due to its modularity and reliability. However, this industry cannot stand still for a moment and the ability to add new functionality is one of the hallmarks of IP technology. That’s why we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the security or flexibility of our devices. In this case, to meet market demands, we improved both security and flexibility at once.”
