On the morning of Wednesday, September 27, China successfully launched the Earth remote sensing satellite Yaogan-33 04, the fourth in this series of spacecraft, into Earth orbit.
Xinhua reported this, as reported by Ukrinform.
The Long March-4C launch vehicle with a satellite was launched from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in northwestern China at 4.15 am local time (23.15 on Tuesday in Kiev).
It was noted that Yaogan-33 04 successfully entered the planned Earth orbit.
In the message of the Chinese side, it is stated that the new spacecraft will be used for scientific experiments, research of sea and land resources, evaluation of agricultural productivity, prevention of natural disasters and elimination of their consequences.
However, Western analysts believe that the Yaogan family’s spacecraft has a dual purpose and can be used for both civilian and military purposes. To conduct optical, radar and electronic reconnaissance, especially in the interests of the Chinese army.
The Long March-4C is a three-stage liquid-fueled launch vehicle capable of carrying up to three tonnes of payload into Earth orbit.
It is also capable of launching different types of satellites into different orbits and can launch one or more spacecraft into space to designated orbital positions in a single launch.
Today’s launch was the 489th flight of the Long March launch vehicle.
As Ukrinform reported, on Monday, September 25, the American company SpaceX launched 21 more Starlink internet satellites into orbit.
