On the “Action.Education” platform, the “Updated informatics – IT studios” module, a program that will be scaled to all educational institutions of Ukraine, has been launched.
This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukrinform reported.
“IT studios are a new approach to teaching and learning IT in schools. Children use modern technologies in lessons, learn programming languages and develop relevant digital skills. It is also a modern content format (animated videos, presentations and localized materials). Successful completion of the pilot then we will scale the updated informatics program to all educational institutions”, – said Deputy Prime Minister for the Development of Innovation, Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
According to the Ministry, the educational resources of IT studios were “piloted” in 50 educational institutions in the last academic year. 70 teachers and more than 3,000 students participated in the trial.
Now the “Updated informatics – IT studio” materials are ready for use throughout the general secondary education system.
It is expected that the functionality of the platform will be expanded by the end of 2023. It is planned to reach 4 million school children overall with the educational resources of the IT studio.
The project is being implemented with the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education and Science within the framework of the EU4DigitalUA program funded by the European Union.
