Xiaomi has officially launched its 13T and 13 Pro. According to the manufacturer, the new Xiaomi devices are intended to be a playground for creative souls.
Xiaomi gathered the international press in Berlin yesterday to officially present its new smartphones. The Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are only one step lower in the pecking order than the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro (without T) that were released in the spring. The new smartphones are available now.
Xiaomi works with the German camera manufacturer Leica for its top models and the company is very proud of it. Almost the entire press release is dedicated to explaining the camera features. While the Xiaomi 13 series is all about performance, the Xiaomi 13T (Pro) is all about creativity.
You get three cameras: a 50MP wide-angle camera with an “equivalent focal length” of 27mm. Additionally, there’s a 50MP telephoto lens with a 50mm equivalent focal length and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a (yes!) 15mm equivalent focal length.
It is not for nothing that the name Leica sticks to the camera island and thus integrates two patented photography styles and six filters from the camera manufacturer. The Xiaomi 13T Pro supports 8K video, the 13T up to 4K.
Of course, Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro should be smartphones first and cameras second. The Xiaomi 13T Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ (3.35 GHz), and a built-in Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU handles the image processing. Xiaomi installed a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset in the 13T.
Xiaomi excels at fast charging and wants to prove it again with its latest devices. After five minutes on the charger, the 13T Pro is back to 36 percent battery and it only takes nineteen minutes to fully charge the 5,000 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are available in Belgium from today in blue, green or black. For the 13T with 8 GB + 256 GB you pay 649.99 euros, the 13T Pro with 12 GB + 512 GB costs 899.99 euros (prices including VAT).
One country where you won’t find new Xiaomi devices is Finland. Finnish telecom operators have voluntarily launched a boycott against the brand because, unlike many other major electronics brands, Xiaomi continues its activities in Russia.
