“The seizure of Google’s bank account in Russia made it impossible for our Russian office to operate, including retaining and paying employees in Russia, paying suppliers and contractors, and meeting other financial obligations,” a company spokesperson said. Said.

At the same time, Google will continue to offer the opportunity to use the company’s free services to users from Russia, despite the intention of the Russian “daughter” to file its own bankruptcy. These include Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps and Google Play.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was learned that Google, the Russian subsidiary of Google, plans to apply to arbitration court to declare its own bankruptcy. As of March 22, 2022, the company “estimates its own bankruptcy and inability to meet its monetary obligations.”

On Wednesday, it was reported that the amount of the revolving fine imposed on Google increased by more than 500 million rubles due to the appointed enforcement fee. According to the database of the Federal Enforcement Service (FSSP), in addition to the revolving fine of 7.2 billion rubles, the company is obliged to pay 505,534,136 rubles.

At the end of December 2021, the Tagansky court in Moscow awarded Google a turnover of at least 5% of annual revenue for 2020 – more than 7.2 billion rubles, according to Roskomnadzor’s claims. The company is subject to Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

The deadline for voluntary payment of the fine expired on March 19, 2022. In late April, bailiffs filed suit against the company to enforce fines.
