MINISFORUM will present AMD Ryzen 8000 on a tablet

MINISFORUM is a manufacturer well known for its compact PCs, but it’s going all out and has announced plans to launch a tablet that will feature the Ryzen 8000, with other AMD processors yet to be announced.

MINISFORUM V3 is advertised as a high-performance 2-in-1 device with Windows 11. It has a multi-touch screen 14 inches with native QHD+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate Supports MPP 2.0 styluses with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. On the back, we also see a keyboard and a stand, which makes it easier to use on a desk.

The device has a good collection of ports, highlighting two USB4, Display Port, SD card and audio jack. It supports the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless standards and a four-speaker audio system.

Apart from the fingerprint scanner on the power button, its 2MP front camera includes IR and supports Windows Hello for facial recognition. The rear camera is 5 MP. Its battery will have a capacity greater than 50 Wh.

And Ryzen 8000

The big news of this hybrid will be its SoC. The next generation AMD APU, which has not yet been announced, but which we have already seen in technical samples. This series is to replace the current “Phoenix” processors, updated at the last CES with the Ryzen 7000 Mobile for notebooks.

The model for this tablet would be a ‘Hawk Point’ up to 28 watts. These new APUs are expected to have ZEN 4 processor cores and RDNA 3.5 for the graphics part. Another component that will be updated in the new APUs will be the XDNA engine, which will enable better AI capabilities and help AMD stay competitive with Intel’s NPU/VPU in Intel’s upcoming Meteor Lake CPUs.

We’ll have to wait for AMD’s official unveiling as it’s predictable that other high-end series like the ‘Strix Point’ will feature the ZEN 5 architecture.
