The United States and Denmark announced a partnership to be implemented through USAID’s “Cybersecurity of Ukrainian Critical Infrastructure” project to reduce vulnerability and strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure against cyber threats.
As reported by the US Embassy in Ukraine, Denmark will invest 2.8 million US dollars (20 million Danish kroner) in the project, Ukrinform reported.
“Expanding Ukraine’s capabilities in the field of cybersecurity is critical to ensure the protection of government bodies and critical infrastructure objects against the multitude of cyber attacks directed by Russia against Ukraine. I congratulate Denmark’s decision to invest $ 2.8 million. The diplomatic mission stated that with this new support from Denmark, the United States will continue its activities to strengthen Ukraine’s cybersecurity environment, including the legal, regulatory and institutional framework; In order to create a more sustainable cyber security sector in Ukraine, it is aimed to train experts in the field of cyber security, as well as to increase mutual trust and strengthen cooperation between the private and public sectors.
USAID’s “Cyber Security of Ukrainian Critical Infrastructure” project has played a key role since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, providing government agencies and critical infrastructure facilities with the tools and expertise necessary for uninterrupted operations and meeting the needs of Ukrainians. The project also contributes to establishing partnership relations with international cyber security structures. In particular, with his help, cooperation was initiated between the State Service for the Protection of Special Communications and Information of Ukraine and the US Agency for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security (CISA).
