According to the BBC, the Chinese company is testing this new service in the English-speaking market outside the US, but declined to comment on where exactly.
TikTok now shows personalized ads to all users over the age of 18.
Technology news site Techcrunch reported that the tests were done on a small scale and there is no certainty that this paid subscription will later be made available globally.
YouTube and social network X (formerly Twitter) are among the sites that currently offer paid monthly subscriptions to users in exchange for fewer or no ads on their platforms.
As reported by Ukrinform, TikTok officially launched its e-commerce function in the US in September.
