The new foldable phone, which will be announced this fall, is the result of a joint work between Oppo and OnePlus. Both brands are used in different markets.

This fall, OnePlus is launching another high-end device, presumably a foldable one. To provide clarity, Peter Lau, chief product officer of Oppo and co-founder of OnePlus, said that both brands developed the phone together.

He also adds to The Verge that the two foldable phones, identical twins, will be sold in different markets. Where the Oppo model is available, OnePlus makes room and vice versa.

Oppo has already launched two versions of the Find N and is working on announcing the Find N3 later this year. The OnePlus Open would be the counterpart, the brand’s first foldable model.

According to GSMArena, the Oppo Find N3 will be sold exclusively in China later this year and the OnePlus Open will be the international model. This decision would not be surprising since both previous models were also only available in China. Only the Oppo Find N2 Flip was released internationally as a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. It is not yet clear whether its successor will also receive a badge from OnePlus to reserve the Oppo name for China.
