The Xbox Gold Shadow Special Edition controller is available for pre-order ahead of its launch on 17 October for $69.99/£64.99.
“This is a tribute to the fan-favorite design of the Xbox One Shadow series. This controller features a sophisticated gold-to-black metallic finish on the top of the chassis,” says Microsoft.
“Except for the top of the case and the D-Pad, the rest of the controller is coated in carbon black, allowing the gold elements to shine through.”
The controller can connect to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles, computers, mobile phones and tablets via Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless. Microsoft has already released at least eight new Xbox controller designs in 2023.
The company released the blue-purple Stellar Shift controller in February and the Velocity Green controller in March. Red and blue versions of the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller were also released in March.
In May, Microsoft released the peach and pastel blue-themed Sunkissed Vibes controller, followed by a limited edition Starfield controller in June. The company released the Stormcloud Vapor Xbox Series X/S controller in August, followed by the Astral Purple wireless controller in September.
