CNBC reports this, according to Ukrinform.
The company told Gmail users that it will require email users who send more than 5,000 messages per day to offer a one-click unsubscribe button in their messages.
Google will also require mass mailing accounts to verify their email addresses and establish systems to prove that they own the domains and that they are not spoofing IP addresses.
The proposed changes will come into force in February 2024.
Google’s move underscores the ongoing battle between big tech companies and spammers who use open systems such as email to send fake messages.
Machine learning techniques have been used to combat spam for years, but the battle continues as spammers find new ways to bypass built-in filters.
A spammer is a person who mass-mails communications of advertising or other nature to individuals who have not expressed a desire to receive them.
As Ukrinform reports, unknown persons are allegedly sending dangerous spam mails on behalf of the Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office.
