Dell announces new expansions to its generative AI offering. The company wants to cover the entire AI lifecycle step by step.

At the end of July, Dell announced it wanted to do more with generative AI and is reaffirming that promise today. It Generative AI solutionsThe offer is being expanded to include new capacities. The announcements go beyond hardware, as Dell is also launching services to prepare everything and everyone in your organization for the adoption of generative AI.

We wrote about the “validated designs” back in July, which essentially means that Dell will be building Nvidia hardware into its most advanced servers in order to be able to affix the coveted Nvidia label to them. Dell ships pre-built AI models on these servers to accelerate the implementation of generative AI. Generative AI Solutions is a new name for Project Helix, which Dell launched together with Nvidia earlier this year.

Dell is now expanding this offering with additional options for fine-tuning the models with their own data. This will be offered via the Apex platform from the end of October.

Data, processes and people

However, the biggest expansion is in the (also launched at the end of July) Professional Services. With this support service, Dell aims to open the doors to generative AI for your business. Implementing AI is not just about having the necessary hardware in-house: your data, processes and employees must also be ready.

It all starts with getting your data in order. Data Preparation Services provides customers with clean and accurate data sets in the correct format so that via Implementation Services With qualitative data, models can be developed and implemented more quickly. To make data easier to access across the enterprise, Dell announced an integration with Starburst to create open data lakehouses using the PowerEdge platform. This will go live in early 2024.

One factor that you should not forget in the transformation process is the people in your organization. You can have the best technology, but your employees need to be able to work with it.
