Dutch company U-Boat Works introduced the world’s fastest private submarine, Super Sub, at the yacht show in Monaco.

It is stated that the hull of the 6.5-meter submarine was designed for hydrodynamic efficiency.
Super Sub can dive to depths of 300 m.
The 62kWh onboard battery has an endurance of approximately eight hours, but oxygen, CO2 removal, interior lighting and communication with the surface will be maintained for at least 96 hours.
The speed of the submarine is 18.5 km per hour.
“The Super Submarine’s speed of 10 knots (ed. 18.5 km) is 3-4 knots faster than the maximum cruising speed of a common bottlenose dolphin and 7 knots faster than the average submarine. U-Boat Worx Marketing Manager Roy Heydra said the owners were a group of marine “It can ‘crawl’ behind a turtle, swim alongside a school of sharks, dive and return with a school of dolphins, or swim fast underwater with a pike,” he said.
Only one Super Sub has been built so far, and it is scheduled to be delivered by the end of the year. The company says it will build more submarines of this type next year.
The Super Sub has a starting price of €5.2 million (US$5.44 million).
