Key tools like AppEngine and AutomationEngine will soon be available in Azure to extend analytics and automation to more teams.

Dynatrace has had a multi-year contract and intensive collaboration with Microsoft for some time. The company has a go-to-market strategy with Microsoft to help mutual customers accelerate their cloud migration and optimization initiatives.

In this regard, it is not surprising that Dynatrace is bringing new innovations from its portfolio to Azure today. Observability and application security have become essential for companies committed to cloud-native development.

An important part of this is the new user experience with improved dashboarding options. According to Dynatrace, this is intended to ensure better collaboration between teams and enable more people within an organization to make data-driven decisions.

New features for Azure customers

Many new features within the Dynatrace platform will soon be available to Azure customers. The most important three are:

  • Dynatrace Grail: Data lakehouse that brings together observability, security and enterprise data from cloud-native, hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The context of the data is preserved to enable accurate analysis.
  • AutomationEngine: No-code and low-code toolset with Davis AI. It enables teams to build and extend custom, intelligent, and secure workflow automation across their cloud ecosystem.
  • AppEngine: Davis AI again has no-code and low-code capabilities, allowing teams to easily build and share apps that leverage insights from data generated by cloud environments.

The expanded Dynatrace platform, including Grail, AutomationEngine, AppEngine and the new user experience, will be available as a limited availability release to customers running on Microsoft Azure by the end of calendar year 2023. General availability will follow in the first quarter of 2024.
