The boy and the heron, Moon Killers either Murderer are some of the most anticipated movie releases for this October 2023, a month in which not all weeks are equally packed in terms of heavyweights, rather the opposite, but in which top movies are available, including excellent ones and some others.

But as always, we take this opportunity to remind you that if you’re not a big fan of going to the cinema, but rather of watching movies, you can’t miss our weekly section on VOD news, dedicated exclusively to content that comes via video-on-demand. Without further ado, we begin with an overview of what opens in Spanish cinemas this month, whose billboard will be renewed tomorrow.

Starring Annette Bening (american beauty, About Henry) and Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs, Taxi driver), Nyad is a biographical drama, based on true events, about former swimmer and sports journalist Diana Nyad, who still faces a challenge to overcome. This is going from theaters to Netflix.

A switcheroo, a comedy with a more dramatic backdrop is what you’ll find My second JonSpanish production directed by Carmen Maura (Commonwealth, Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown). Do you want to see the sea for the last time? Okay, but it won’t be through your eyes. The plot of this movie is at least quirky, if not crazy.

The last week of October is by far the strongest month in terms of releases, starting The boy and the herona new film from Studio Ghibli and the first film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki since his farewell, The wind is rising (2013). However, if we are talking about a movie with a magical theme, this is the first from the Japanese animation master Ponyo on a cliff and the first screenings and reviews are overwhelmingly positive, so… (this one ends up on Netflix too).

Murderer

Another movie that is highly anticipated by the critics who have already reviewed it is Murdererin which David Fincher (seven, Fight Club) adapts the comic of the same name with Michael Fassbender (X men, Alien: Covenant) at the forefront of an adventure of action, intrigue and drama. If you don’t see it in theaters, you will have it on Netflix in November.

Trolls 3: All Together

Finally, and again focusing on the little ones in the household, there is another unmissable event for this month Trolls 3: All Together, the third installment in the animated franchise from DreamWorks and Universal Pictures. Good thing, unlike what happens with Paw Patrol The point is that these films are more enjoyable for the accompanying audience, i.e. adults.
