Meta launches innovative Generative AI tools

Meta Platforms introduced innovative generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools designed specifically for advertisers. These cutting-edge features available through Meta Ad Manager allow advertisers to effortlessly revolutionize their creative content.

The first tool allows advertisers to customize images by creating a variety of backgrounds for their product images. Based on the technology behind Meta’s consumer tool Backdrop, these backgrounds are designed for advertisers to transform product images with simple yet eye-catching colors and patterns.

Another feature, image scaling, simplifies the process of adapting assets to the different proportions required for different platforms, such as Feed or Reels. Advertisers using Meta’s Advantage+ catalog can now seamlessly switch between images and videos, saving valuable time.

The Text Variants feature in Meta Ads Manager allows advertisers to create up to six different versions of text based on the original copy. These options highlight specific keywords and phrases, giving advertisers the flexibility to select or edit the generated result. Meta’s AI technology also enables dynamic testing between campaigns, exposing different combinations of text to different audiences to determine the most effective messaging strategies.

Meta’s extensive testing with a diverse group of advertisers earlier this year showed significant time savings. Generative AI has been proven to save advertisers five or more hours per week, the equivalent of one month per year. While Meta recognizes that more customization is needed based on each advertiser’s unique style, these early results point to a promising future for generative AI in advertising.

Additionally, Meta plans to introduce more AI features, including creating ad copy and creating generative backgrounds with custom themes to highlight sales benefits. In addition to these advertising innovations, Meta’s latest announcement includes the integration of artificial intelligence for business messaging in Messenger and WhatsApp, improving customer engagement and supporting e-commerce.

Meta’s initiative into generative AI marks a significant step in the tech giant’s quest to foster creative expression and connection through innovative technology. Advertisers can now use these powerful tools to enhance their campaigns and captivate audiences with visually stunning and engaging content.
