Trump said so on his social network Truth Social after last Wednesday. Biden will order border wall strengthening with Mexico in one of the areas where illegal migrant crossings are most often reported.

When asked about it this Thursday, Biden confirmed that he does not believe in the effectiveness of the wallbut argued that Congress is now forcing him to spend money that was approved for the wall in 2019, while Trump was still in office.

According to the White House, the administration has repeatedly asked Congress allocate these funds for the wall on other points, but the Legislative Assembly refused.

Congressional control currently divided with Democrats in power in the Senate and Republicans holding a majority in the Lower House.

Immigration will be a critical issue in the 2024 presidential election, where Biden is seeking re-election and could again face Trump, who starts as favorite in his party’s primaries ultimately become the Republican nominee. (EFE)
