With Okta AI, the company is launching a range of AI capabilities to create better experiences and better protect itself and its customers from cyberattacks.

Embedded in both the Workforce Identity Cloud and Customer Identity Cloud, Okta AI enables real-time identity actions using the latest AI models and Okta’s crowdsourced threat intelligence and identity data. The security provider has data protection and compliance teams to ensure that Okta AI applications process data ethically and in accordance with data protection regulations.

“As AI blurs the boundaries between people and machines, identity is crucial to ensuring we can securely connect people with technology,” said Mark van Leeuwen, Okta Regional Vice President Benelux. “As we continue to focus on securing the industry’s most sensitive data, we are uniquely positioned to help companies innovate responsibly, with AI as the connective tissue at every level of their technology stack.”

Together with Google

Several Okta AI offerings will be built on top of Google Vertex AI, starting with the Log Investigator and Policy Recommender in the Workforce Identity Cloud. Additionally, Okta is introducing Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI, a new product that provides real-time detection and response to identity-based threats. Identity Threat Protection is powered by the Okta AI platform and relies on a variety of signals from an organization’s security stack. It extends security far beyond initial authentication.

Finally, there is now passkey support, allowing businesses to move to a password-free future. It offers phishing-resistant, passwordless authentication to protect users and data. This new authentication method is available in early access in the Customer Identity Cloud.
