Microsoft announces Windows 11 is ready for widespread implementation

Microsoft announced that it has reached an important milestone for its new operating system, Windows 11. According to the documentation on the Microsoft website, Windows 11 is ready for widespread use.

This means that (almost) any user can now download and install it via Windows Update. Microsoft traditionally announces this after several months of unhurried deployment of the operating system to ensure a smooth and stable update for as many users as possible.

Although Windows 11 becomes available for distribution, Microsoft does not plan to impose it as it did with the forced upgrade to Windows 10 in 2015. The new operating system remains optional and users are free to keep Windows 10 active. which will continue for three more years.

Despite the new situation, there is a reason why Microsoft does not allow those who want to upgrade their PC to Windows 11, even according to the system requirements. This is a known issue with a specific Intel SST (Intelligent Audio Technology) driver. Computers with such a driver do not receive offers to install Windows 11. Source
