The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the 61st flight of the Ingenuity helicopter to Mars was successfully completed.

“The Mars helicopter completed its 61st flight, breaking the altitude record set by Flight 59,” JPL said.
In its last successful flight, Ingenuity was recorded to have climbed to a height of 24 meters, four meters higher than the previous indicator.
“This flight lasted approximately 129 seconds,” JPL added.
Previously, the Ingenuity helicopter broke the ground speed record on Mars.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ingenuity helicopter was delivered to the Red Planet along with NASA’s Perseverance rover on February 18, 2021, after almost seven months of flight. Ingenuity made its first flight on April 19. The $85 million helicopter became the first aircraft launched to another planet.
