Spotify ‘Superpremium’ continues to ‘play’, lossless audio plan

There will be those who think it sounds like a joke, but also those who think it sounds like glory, and the thing is, it’s all about the sound. The ones that were always talked about but never crystallized Spotify plan with lossless audio, whose arrival is again being talked about in a closer time horizon than usual. This time the source of the news is Chris Messina, who has already advanced the integration of AI for creating playlists.

This Messina “kidnap” essentially confirms a leak from a few weeks ago, extracted from the same application source code and in which features and price Spotify Supremium plan, including:

  • 24-bit lossless music (no longer labeled as Hifi)
    • They claim that “their technology has zero lag (or lag and lag)”
  • The ability to create playlists with AI
  • 30 hours of listening to audiobooks every month
    • “Access to the included audiobook listening hours is only available to administrators of the Individual, Duo and Family plan”
  • Ability to filter library by mood, activity and gender
  • Advanced blending tools
    • Customize playlist order by BPM or danceability, or use “smart order” to create the best sequence using key and tempo.
    • Enables smooth transitions that use set start points to smoothly transition between tracks
    • Filter the playlist by mood and genre
  • Sound test: Tells you about your listening habits and discovers which sound mix is ”uniquely yours”

The Spotify Supremium or ‘Superpremium’ price is unchanged and remains at $19.99 per month. It leaves behind the most familiar name of HiFi, now replaced by the more specific “24-bit lossless audio” when possible. However, the similarities between what the two leaks reveal are quite strong, differing only in a few details: one includes “Soundcheck” in the plan, the other “Your Sound Capsule”, but they are essentially the same.

When will it be known officially and definitively? Whistleblowers won’t get wet with this either, so we’ll just have to wait, although with the amount of data already exposed, it shouldn’t take much longer. For Christmas this year? At the New Year? Before? After? Spotify will say. You will find out, don’t hesitate.
