SpaceX will launch 22 Starlink satellites on October 9

SpaceX will launch 22 more satellites starlink Monday night (Oct. 9) from Florida. The Starlink spacecraft is scheduled to lift off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from the Space Force Station at Cape Canaveral at 20:42 on Monday (10 October 00:42 GMT). Four backup opportunities are also available from 21:32 ET to 12:10 ET (13:32 to 04:10 GMT on October 10).

When the time comes, you’ll be able to watch the event live from the SpaceX account on X (formerly Twitter). The broadcast is expected to begin approximately five minutes before kick-off. If all goes as planned, the Falcon 9 first stage will return to Earth for a vertical landing aboard SpaceX’s A Shortfall of Gravitas unmanned spacecraft approximately 8.5 minutes after launch.

According to SpaceX’s mission statement, this will be the 14th takeoff and landing for the Falcon 9 first stage. Two of the 13 previous missions sent astronauts to the International Space Station for NASA. Meanwhile, 22 Starlink satellites are planned to be deployed into low Earth orbit approximately 65 minutes after launch from the Falcon 9’s upper stage.

Monday’s launch was originally scheduled for Sunday evening (October 8), but strong winds caused a 24-hour delay. Sunday night’s launch will be the first of two simultaneous Starlink launches: another Falcon 9 launched 21 Starlinks from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 03:23 (07:23 GMT) on Monday.
