As reported 24 ChannelsBloggers began receiving messages from YouTube on the evening of October 9, accusing them of violating the platform’s rules. Specifically, it refers to infringing content”nudity and sexually suggestive content policyBut the content on the website of the “Live Return” foundation is focused only on its mission, projects and ways of supporting the Ukrainian army and does not contain frank materials.
How serious is the problem?
One of the key concerns was that YouTube’s automated system did not provide an opportunity to appeal these decisions. However, bloggers can and do appeal a complaint. Moreover, as of Tuesday morning, October 10, the bloggers who objected started to receive messages stating that their content had been checked and no rule violations were found.
YouTube has yet to respond in any way to the mass blocking and accusations on the network. However, it is worth noting that a similar situation is currently happening on the platform. Such actions by Russian bots can only cause inconvenience to bloggers and the foundation, but are unlikely to cause serious harm, as YouTube will review objections and confirm that the content complies with the platform’s rules.
