German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Trucks introduced its electric truck that can transport over long distances.
As reported by Ukrinform, Bloomberg.
The eActros 600 truck can travel 500 kilometers on a single charge and carry up to 22 tons of cargo. The truck can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in half an hour, provided the customer has access to a one-megawatt charger, the company said.
Although there are currently few single-megawatt chargers available, the European Union has set goals to expand charging infrastructure for electric trucks. In particular, the report states that by 2030, the EU’s main road network should be equipped with charging stations every 60 kilometers.
Daimler Truck Holding AG said on Tuesday that Mercedes’ new model will go on sale at the end of this year.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 8, a Japanese company Isuzu Motors introduced its first electric truck.
