The PlayStation 5 (PS5) console equipped with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available on November 10 for $450 (66,980 yen).
The digital version without a disc drive, which requires users to download games to the console, will be priced at $403 (¥59,980).
The new model is more than 30% smaller than the previous one. Its width is 35.8 cm and its depth is 21.6 cm.
PS5 is equipped with an SSD drive with an increased memory capacity of up to 1 terabyte, designed for high-speed data transfer, which allows you to significantly increase the graphics performance of the console.
It has a dedicated AMD graphics processor with ray tracing capability, support for displays with 4K resolution and high frame rates, new audio equipment for real-time 3D sound effects.
The PS5 will reportedly be compatible with most PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR games.
The company said it would discontinue production of the previous PS4 model, released in the fall of 2013, and sell only its stock.
