Adobe contributes to the recognition of AI-generated content

Adobe will join thousands of other organizations and companies with a new icon to indicate that content was generated using artificial intelligence. The symbol was named Content Credentials.

With the spectacular growth of AI, there is an increasing need for accurate information about the content created using the technology. That’s why Adobe is now joining more than a thousand other companies and organizations in introducing Content Credentials. This is an icon with metadata for implementation in AI-generated creations.

Global initiative

Content Credentials comes from the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) project that Adobe launched in 2019. This is an organization that advocates for accurate information and transparency across various media outlets.

This led to the creation of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) two years after its founding. This consortium is working on a general standard for all aspects of the digital world.

Recognition and recognition

From Content credentials allow creators to add metadata to their work. This data will then be visible in the content by clicking on the symbol.

Content credentials not only ensure that creators are acknowledged, but can also specify how their creations may be used. The metadata may also include the creation process and any links to a website or social media.

Practical

It is intended Add content credentials to anything built with Firefly. This technology is now included in most Adobe products. This week the company also unveiled the second generation of AI models. The first generation has recently become generally available.

Content Credentials is currently in beta, so it’s not a general rollout yet. For example, the new symbol is already used on the American website, while on the Belgian website it is the more general information logo.
