Dedicated chart Intel Arc A580 may turn out to be one of the surprises of the year, at least in execution OpenCL. While we reported a score of 82,992 using the above API on Geekbench 5 last August, we now learn that its score on the same test with Geekbench 6 is 88,019.
The improvement in OpenCL implementation may be due to Intel improving the Arc A580 drivers in recent weeks. This result further puts this model above the RTX 3050 and even the RX 7600 according to the data collected by WccFetch, all with a base price of $179 in the US market (we remember that the prices there are without taxes).
Going a little deeper into the data, the Intel Arc A580 scored 88,019 in OpenCL with Geekbench 6, showing the same clock speed of 2.4GHz. This new result represents a 6% improvement compared to the previous one and means it is 6% faster than the Radeon RX 7600. and that would more or less match the GeForce RTX 3060.
The Intel Arc A580’s numbers aren’t bad considering it’s a low-end graphics card, but it’s important to keep in mind that good performance with OpenCL doesn’t necessarily mean good performance in video games, where DirectX is the dominant API followed by Vulkan and OpenGL within Windows .
The basic features of the Intel Arc A580 are 24 cores, 384 execution units3,072 arithmetic logic units, base clock frequency 1,700 MHz, maximum operating speed 2.4 GHz, 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, 256-bit bus, 512GB/s bandwidth 185W TDP.

Although it is unwise to extrapolate results with OpenCL to DirectX and Vulkan, the Arc A580 can be a good low-end choice for equipment playing games low profile, and seeing the improvements that Intel has introduced at the driver level over the months, it’s possible that its premiere will leave a better taste in the mouth than the Arc A770 and Arc A750 models back then. Of course, the Intel Vulkan driver for Linux is still very much green, in case anyone is thinking of using one of the company’s models to play with the system.
Arc A580 has already been officially announced by Intel with ASRock, GUNNIR and Sparkle builds. All of these models include two fans and occupy two slots in the box that holds the graphics card.
