In a blog, Google announced that Cloud Spanner now has lower latency, is more efficient and flexible, and has more storage capacity. Additionally, the tech giant claims that the improved version of Cloud Spanner now costs barely half as much as Amazon’s competitor AWS for the similar DynamoDB.
With these improvements, Cloud Spanner offers twice the read throughput per dollar as Amazon’s DynamoDB, according to Google. This with a similar amount of work.
