We initially learned about the vulnerability that allowed the Good Samaritan attack to be carried out, but the worst came shortly after when cases of AirTags being used for espionage, stalking and harassment began to surface.

The lack of foresight in this respect was undoubtedly the fault of those at Cupertino, a fault which will now bring them to trial. The lawsuit was originally started by two people, later joined by a third, and has steadily grown until there are currently 36 plaintiffs whose location would be tracked by stalkers in real time thanks to Apple tags.

However, the most objectionable thing about Apple is not the lack of initial insight, but the calm with which they seem to have set about solving this problem. In contrast, Google has been working on a similar system for some time and confirmed a few months ago that it had already done its homework before rolling it out, so users can find out if they’re being tracked by a beacon that isn’t theirs. And why hasn’t he been released yet? Because, as they say, they are waiting for Apple to do its part, since this security system is supposed to be compatible with Android and iOS.
