Recently, we witnessed two quite relevant launches in the gaming world. On the one hand, Counter-Strike 2the long-awaited revival of one of Valve’s biggest hits, finally reached users two weeks ago, taking over the veteran Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, CS:GO, a title that attracted legions of players to the game. the world of multiplayer shooters, which has become one of the main references of the genre.
On the other hand, and although it was first announced in November of last year, AMD finally confirmed in late August that arrival of FSR 3, your alternative to NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS. There are several technologies that come from his hand and from AMD HYPER-X, so if you want to create a good composition of the place, I recommend you to read a very complete guide on this matter published by my colleague Isidro, because to remove all your doubts.
An important feature of AMD FSR 3 is Anti-LAG+, which plays a key role for Fluid Motion. As you already know, the latter is AMD’s alternative to DLSS 3 Frame Generation, and the Anti-LAG+ feature adjusts the render queue to reduce lag caused by interpolated frames. This way the output is more uniform and reduces latency. Although there are some differences, we can compare AMD Anti-LAG and Anti-LAG+ to what NVIDIA Reflex provides to users of GeForce RTX graphics cards.

The problem is, as we can read on Engadget, an issue between Counter-Strike 2 and AMD Anti-LAG/+ causes users to be banned from playing. The latest version of AMD drivers (23.10.1) has, among other news, come with specific support so that Counter-Strike 2 can use Anti-LAG/+, which should be great news in principle. However, Valve’s cheat detection system, present in CS2, will identify suspicious action and automatically report it to the company’s servers, which will ban the user’s account, even if they have not performed any prohibited action, such as using third-party cheating software.
Valve has already acknowledged the issue but for now the ball is in AMD’s court to fix this issue with AMD Anti-LAG/+ implementation in Counter-Strike 2 and release an updated version of the driver as soon as possible. In the meantime, we recommend that players who have updated their driver disable the use of Anti-LAG/+ in the game settings. And for those who have already been unfairly banned, Valve suggests that their accounts will be restored when AMD releases a new patched version of the driver.
However, This blocking reversal process does not appear to be instantaneous. As we can read in this publication, Valve states that they will have to go to work to identify the affected accounts. how do they do it? Hopefully in the fastest and most automated way possible, although this will depend very directly on the amount of information stored about the blocks.
