He Paris Louvrethe most visited museum in the world, was evacuated this Saturday and was forced to close its doors for a while fear of terrorist attackthe day after a young Chechen Islamist killed a teacher at an educational institution in the city of Arras.

The decision was made after the museum received written bomb threats.

The museum indicated on social networks.

For security reasons, the Louvre is closing its doors today, Saturday, October 14th. People who booked today will receive a refund.

According to the French press, up to 15 thousand visitors had to be evacuated.

The Louvre welcomed almost 8 million people in 2022 and is one of the world’s top tourist attractions.

This evacuation and closure of the iconic museum comes after young Mohamed M. stabbed to death a 57-year-old teacher at the Gambetta Institute in Arras (north).

In the midst of unrest over this new Islamist attack, the French President announced this Saturday that until 7 thousand soldiers Operation Sentinel will be deployed throughout France until Monday in response to the terror alert.
