[Advertorial] About a year ago I was able to open the doors of the first regional Sogeti branch in Belgium in the Ghelamco Arena. Yes, even though we are a subsidiary of the global Capgemini specializing in end-2-end quality engineering, we still firmly believe in the added value of a local presence and support for companies. And what happens after a year? The approach is successful: there is great interest from companies in the region and local talent is increasingly finding its way to Sogeti. Just like our football neighbors in the arena, we are looking forward to the coming year with great confidence.

The Ghent office was not the first regional center that Sogeti established in Europe. More than 80 branches have previously been opened, most recently in Leeds, Malaga and Dortmund. However, it remains to be seen what the response from the local target group will be. We were firmly convinced that with this office we could offer SMEs, growth companies and large companies from East and West Flanders the best of both worlds: on the one hand, easy access to the decades of expertise, size and international network of a world market leader, on the other hand, and on the other hand the advantages a local contact person and a personal approach. Local talent that brings the knowledge and experience of the entire group to the company is a real added value for these companies. And over the past year, we’ve worked hard to highlight these benefits in these companies.

For example, we organized the QX Days in Ghent this spring. This annual Sogeti event, with editions in various countries, highlights the importance of quality engineering and testing through keynotes, trend overviews and use cases from domestic and foreign experts. Since the QX Days took place in Belgium for the first time, the Ghent office was immediately chosen as the ā€œplace to beā€. With success, because there were many customers and interested parties on site that day, including many valuable leads. This day literally and figuratively put Sogeti Ghent on the map.

In addition, Sogeti Gent has also worked extensively on the (digital highway), including blogs and videos, such as a detailed explanation of the importance of testing for companies wanting to use AI and ChatGPT. And our consultants are ready to bring even more high-quality content online. Add to this, among other things, the advertising on social media – including on the Capgemini and Sogeti channels – around the QX days, and you understand how online, social and regional only reinforce each other.

Time to harvest

With these and other measures, Sogeti Gent has significantly increased its brand awareness. Companies in the region are interested in the benefits that a close partner can bring them, and the time to reap the fruits of the many seeds planted last year is very near.

One point to note here: It looks like our growth ambitions for our customer base are being achieved and therefore Sogeti Gent itself needs to continue to grow, especially the number of employees. Fortunately, we have made great progress here too. Since launching at the end of last year, we have already had 12 new talents on board. And we expect this growth spurt to continue.

That’s right, in times of talent shortage, that’s significant growth. This proves once again that the combination of proximity and international contacts also offers significant added value for the more experienced talents, our most important target group today. Sogeti also offers the best of both worlds in other areas. Our employees are given every opportunity to develop, demonstrate their entrepreneurship and become the best possible version of themselves. You can count on a training package that covers both soft and hard skills. And all of this from a company near you where you don’t have to sit in traffic for hours every day. In short: Sogeti offers an exciting and varied working environment, just a stone’s throw from where you live. An attractive offer, as evidenced by the many interested parties.

After a year, the conclusion is very clear: regional cooperation with and for an international company is a prospect that sounds like music for many people and companies. And Sogeti responds perfectly.
