MSI has introduced a new series of gaming monitors that feature the use of Rapid VA panel technologies. They are offered in four different models depending on screen size and refresh rate.

Rapid VA panels are an improvement over standard VA (vertical alignment), one of the display technologies used in computer monitors. Halfway between very fast TN and IPS with better color quality, they are ideal in search a balance between the two and especially for curved models to prevent light leakage from the sides.

Here, the surname ‘Rapid’ tells us that it is trying to approach the refresh rate and response time of TN and the contrast, brightness, color depth and viewing angles of IPS. It should also be said that the ratio of features to cost is included, which is why manufacturers use it extensively in gaming monitors. MSI combines this technology with the use of Quantum Dots, which Samsung generally uses in its QLED TVs, which is why we believe that the panels were manufactured by the South Korean giant.

MSI Rapid VA monitors

The Taiwanese manufacturer is launching four models with this technology: MAG 325CQRF-QD and MAG 275CQRF-QD and MAG 325CQRXF and MAG 275CQRXF. They offer 32-inch and 27-inch sizes, and all rely on native WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 1000R curved panels. All have a response time of 1 millisecond and support Adaptive-Sync dynamic synchronization technology.

The first two are the most basic and economical, as they offer a maximum refresh rate of 170 Hz, while the second represents 240 Hz. Contrast ratio, maximum brightness and high dynamic range support with DisplayHDR 400 certification within seconds are also different.

The MSI Rapid VA has an ergonomic base for tilt and swivel adjustments and can be mounted on a table or wall using a VESA mount. They have tickets Display Port, HDMI and USB Type-C in DP mode.
