The development of Stories was first announced in July. Unlike competitors, stories on Twitch can stay live from start to finish 48 hours. The company claims that this feature helps writers stay connected to their communities when they’re offline.

Initially, the ability to create stories on Twitch will be limited to partners and affiliates who have made at least one stream in the last 30 days. But all users (after updating to the latest version of the app) will be able to see them at the top of the subscriptions page.

The company says access will be rolled out gradually to eligible streamers by the end of this week, then to all other creators who qualify.

Authors with at least 30 followers will be able to create stories for followers only. Twitch recommends using this feature for the following purposes: “Add even more value to your followers’ subscriptions with exclusive content”.

The interface of stories on Twitch is almost no different from its counterparts on other services:

• You will see a series of bar indicators showing the number of stories published.
• The sending time, pause button, close button and additional menu will be shown below.
• You will be able to see the likes at the bottom of the page and the author of the story will also be visible.
• When sharing, you can add text, videos, photos, animated and static stickers and emojis in different colors.
• Authors can see the total number of views and reactions to each story they publish, even after the story has expired.
• The app will be able to send notifications to followers when a publisher publishes a story and adjust the frequency of such notifications.

Twitch recommends using stories to easily reach followers, schedule updates, add various announcements, and just for fun.
