Rockstar continues to work on GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games of today. The leaks and rumors also continue and this time we have new information that leaves us with important technical details about this long-awaited game, which, if all goes according to plan, will hit the market between 2024 and 2025.

I know this launch window is very wide, but it’s the only reliable one we have right now if we take the information coming out as a reference. Personally, I’m inclined to think that it will most likely arrive between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, although this is pure intuition.

As some of our readers know, GTA V used RAGE engine in version 7. This variant has been prepared to run smoothly on PS3 and Xbox 360 and PS4 and Xbox One, excelling in offering DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 support.

With Red Dead Redemption 2, a leap was made RAGE 8 graphics enginewhich marked important changes both in the level of artificial intelligence in NPCs and in the ability to control the weather and graphic effects, and made a big leap in all directions thanks to the support DirectX 12 and Vulkan.

Well, for the development of GTA 6 in Rockstar they use RAGE 9 graphics engine which will theoretically improve such important aspects as the physics of all elements of the game, weather and day and night cycles, the quality of geometry in general, texturing and numerous effects, as well as the AI NPC, which could mean a new ceiling in the sector and make the police more realistic.

One thing that font particularly highlights in this new graphics engine is the water physics, which could mark a new milestone in the industry thanks to its unprecedented realism. They also emphasize new vehicle physics and material-based physics lighting, which allows the generation of more realistic effects by taking into account the specific properties of each material. This is important because light ultimately does not fall on dull stone the same way it does on wet asphalt, to give a simple example.

Before I wrap up, I want to address one more important thing, and that is that it seems obvious that with the move to the RAGE 9 Engine, the hardware requirements of GTA 6 would increase exponentially, and this strengthens the possibilities that the said title ending exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series X-Series S and PC.
