Swiss scientists Institute of Biochemistry, Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zurich reported the exciting discovery of a new organ in the human body that is important for supporting the immune system.

The organ called “exclusosome” is located in the cytoplasm of cells and acts as a barrier against external pathogens such as viruses and bacteria, preventing them from entering the cell nucleus and infecting the person. This unique discovery, published in the journal Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC), opens new horizons in understanding the functioning of the human genome.

The study showed that the exclusion substance is a part of the cell cytoplasm that contains DNA fragments. This organ plays an important role in isolating and blocking viral or bacterial DNA that can penetrate the cytoplasm. Exclusion limits their distribution by keeping genetic material in the cytoplasm and preventing its access to the cell nucleus. This discovery has the potential to create new approaches to treating autoimmune diseases because understanding the mechanisms of exclusion operation could lead to the development of new strategies to combat such diseases.

Interestingly, scientists have discovered that extrinsic matter has existed in living organisms since the emergence of the simplest life forms on Earth. This shows that this structure has deep roots in the evolutionary process and is not a new education. The discovery highlights that the extrinsic function is important for the survival of various organisms over long periods of time.

It also shows that the defense mechanisms provided by the excretor were important for the survival and development of organisms long before the emergence of complex multicellular organisms such as plants and animals. The discovery reveals the uniqueness and importance of this structure in the evolution of life on Earth and highlights its importance in supporting vital processes within cells. Source
