Of all the new features in Google Maps, none have impressed me as much as Immersive View. This is awesome

As with new features of many things from Google and Android, the same thing happens to me with new features of Google Maps: they fail to capture much of my attention because I know them from the moment I see them on a Google Maps app. It could take years before I/O reaches our mobile phones. By the time I get them on my phone I’ve already forgotten and sometimes I can’t even find them.

The same thing happened to me Immersive view of Google Maps We met last year and over time it spread to different cities. First, Google tested us with pre-recorded videos of points of interest around the world; these were good but still just videos and the immersive look has now managed to leave me speechless.

Traveling on Google Maps

In recent years, Google has been trying to take Maps to the next level and adding a new dimension. 3D maps and all kinds of “immersive modes”. The first is the attractions and then the immersive routes that we hopefully learned about during Google I/O.

I lost interest in the immersive view after watching 3D videos created by Google and shown at certain points of interest. Until today I decided to give it a second chance. The truth is the immersive view that we can recognize because the overlaid text appears [] Immersive View From the first photo of a place, it spread like wildfire to all kinds of points of interest.

Three places with stunning views

After charging for a few seconds The magic of immersive view is revealed in the form of a 3D map of the place in question and its surroundings. I was actually surprised that you could go quite far from the original point and thus use a point of interest to find your home in 3D.

3D immersive view is interactive, so you can change camera and angle to get a bird’s eye view or a passerby’s view, and although when you look closely you see all kinds of artifacts and “weird things”, the result is impressive and a way to travel around the world from your mobile phone.

The 3D view is very good but the most amazing thing is to see how a place comes to life, how the shadows lengthen or it rains according to the weather forecast

This thing about 3D maps is nothing new, and in fact it’s been around in Google Earth since time immemorial. The thing that really leaves me speechless is the button time and time.

With this button hidden in a corner, you can travel to any place in the world and see it at different times with the view adapting to the current weather. So as the day progresses In the 3D view you will see how the shadows lengthen and the rain begins to fall. This is very impressive.

Whether you’re watching the sunset at Madrid’s Temple of Debod or wandering around the Eifel Tower to see when you can cast a shadow, Google Maps’ immersive view represents one of the rare moments you can watch. Google has managed to make something that will be cool and not primarily functional.

Immersive view of Google Maps continues to spread to more and more places And if you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you try it. Although this is just the beginning of what awaits us on the maps of the future, things are not going as smoothly as I would like.
